About

Goals Before Tools.

Some companies get started in a garage. We got started in a kitchen.

The Magic Bread team knows that the best communications strategies are like the best recipes: strategic, simple, replicable, and made with high-quality ingredients. Our experiences and skills mean that we have a deep understanding of both the constraints and opportunities of small nonprofits—particularly museums, publications, and performing arts organizations.

The Magic Bread Team

Monica Fonorow

is a communications strategist and project manager. With over a dozen years of experience working with arts organizations and other non-profits, Monica brings to each project a keen attention to detail that never loses sight of the big picture. She’s never met a recipe using rhubarb that she could not master.

Hillary Mohaupt

is a writer, editor, and social media strategist. She's spent more than a decade working in large and small non-profit organizations throughout the greater Philadelphia region. Her work has been published in Split Lip, Barrelhouse, Brevity, and elsewhere, and when she's not in front of the computer she's usually in the kitchen baking pies.

Rebecca Ortenberg

is a digital content strategist, public historian, and wrangler of people and ideas. In her ten-year career she has run around in Colonial costume in Delaware, researched nineteenth century lighthouses in California, written about gender and race in the history of science, and considered how digital tools can be used to tell better, truer, more equitable stories. She’s a sucker for classic cocktails and makes a mean pizza.

Alexis Pedrick

is a creative arts administration professional with a proven track record of developing compelling and entertaining programs. She brings twelve years of experience in project management, fundraising, and audience development. She's also a history buff known for her lively public lectures and tours. Her specialty is chocolate cayenne cupcakes.
